What is the difference between a manual and an automatic clutch?

A manual clutch is operated manually by the driver through pressing down on a pedal with their foot. This disengages the clutch and allows the gears to be shifted. An automatic clutch, on the other hand, engages and disengages automatically without the need for the driver to press a pedal. This allows for smoother gear changes, but reduces driver control over the vehicle’s acceleration and deceleration.
